Costs

"We joined Character for the low-cost homeschooling option and ended up falling in love with the community it provided more."

COSTS

Character is appealing to many families because of our low costs. Families are charged per family at a rate of $430 for the 2023-2024 school year. This covers building rent, Moodle (online classroom platform) membership, insurance, state fees, payment processing fees, social events, cleaning and office supplies, gifts, website, and school equipment needs.

In addition to the membership dues families are responsible for purchasing curriculum and classroom supplies.

Optional expenses: Once a month Character offers "Lunches for You". Families may choose to order lunch from Chick-fil-a or Costco (pizza) on these special lunch days, at the expense of the family.

Varying expenses: Occasionally Character will hire an outside teacher for high school classes when a teacher is needed. Usually this happens when there is not a qualified parent within the co-op to teach a high-level class, such as Spanish or Calculus. Generally this cost is $10 per child per week, depending on the number of students enrolled in the class. For these classes, we have allowed students outside of our co-op to attend to help lower the cost for Character families.

Additionally, lab or supply fees can be an additional expense for classes such as robotics, science, and art.

If you still have questions about the costs, please let us know.
